Previous involvement in MCCT/Other Theater:
I have been in quite a few shows with Cardinal/Constellation Stage and Screen. I have not worked with MCCT and I wanted to get the experience…I’m glad I auditioned. In the little time I’ve been working on the show, I have felt very supported and respected by the Director, Rehearsal Manager, Costume Coordinator, Props…you name it!

What is the most unexpected part of community theater to you?
The most unexpected part of Community theater is that it feels just like the professional theatre productions I’ve been in.  And the cast is wonderful so we’re bonding and having lots of fun.

What would you like the audience to know about your character?
My character Vanya is a man in search of contentment, and it seems to be in short supply for him. This show is Chekhov in a blender.  It is a rollercoaster of drama and comedy that keeps you guessing.

What excites you about this show?
I’m excited about this play as I am shifting emotional gears constantly, which is both challenging and awesome! The audience, like the actors, will be swinging back and forth emotionally.

Are you like/unlike your character? In what way?
Vanya and I are alike in many ways.  He’s quieter than I am…until he hits a wall, but his speech patterns have been the most unlike me.  He is more succinct.  Getting into his rhythm and his way of speaking is quite different to mine.

What is your favorite thing about performing?
My favorite thing about performing is that bubble the cast is in.  When you are so submerged in the characters that the entire cast is transported to the event unfolding, and the characters overshadow the actors.
