Monroe County Civic Theatre is looking for 8 to 10 people interested in presenting material at the Friends of the Library Annual Meeting at the NEW Southwest Branch on Wednesday, June 28th! This material can be memorized, read, performed, or just plain spoken!
The Content for the “Books Alive” Program:
The general theme for the night is Beginnings and Celebrations as we usher in a new library branch to our community!
Selections should total no more than 3 minutes total in length, including a summary of the piece and closing remarks about why you chose it to present. Selections can be from a book, poem, play, script, or any form of written work.
Note to anyone interested in auditioning: This production is meant to show the community what the libraries and theatre arts in town have to offer. We are looking for performers of all abilities, ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and gender identities.
If you know you want to audition, but are not sure what work you would like to present, we encourage you to reach out to a local librarian and ask for suggestions about content for “Books Alive”.
