Monroe County Civic Theatre is pleased to announce community auditions for its 35th Anniversary Shakespeare in the Park production, The Comedy of Errors! In-person auditions will be held on April 9&10, 5:30-8:00pm at the stage

Monroe County Civic Theatre is pleased to announce community auditions for its 35th Anniversary Shakespeare in the Park production, The Comedy of Errors!

In-person auditions will be held on April 9&10, 5:30-8:00pm at the stage at Waldron, Hill, and Buskirk Park, aka Third Street Park (331 S Washington St. Bloomington IN).

VIDEO AUDITIONS:

We are also accepting video auditions. If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, you may submit a self-taped video audition, in the form of an unlisted YouTube link or a file shared over Google Drive. Deadline for video submissions is 8pm on April 10. Please email your video audition to mcctcomedyoferrors@gmail.com.

In the body of your email, please answer the following questions:

  • Please list your name, pronouns, height, hair & eye color, and email address.
  • What role/s are you interested in? Would you accept any role? (see character list below)
  • Are you willing to change your haircut or color? Y/N
  • Are you comfortable eating onstage? Y/N
  • Please attach performance resume. If you do not have a resume, please list any relevant performance experience.
  • Do you have any special skills? Ex: singing, dance, instruments, stage combat, marching band

Please review the production schedule below, then list any conflicts you have with it.

What to Prepare

  • Prepare one Shakespeare monologue of your choice, OR cold read one of the sides from the play! Sides are available at the following link, and hard copies will be available at in-person auditions: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19MzEwQjY6VHZlhjaVWjK8LtUU1RMutUa?usp=drive_link
  • If you have an acting headshot & resume, please bring it. If not, please allow us to take your photo for casting purposes, and be prepared to list any relevant performing experience on an audition form.
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing! Auditions will be held outdoors, so dress for comfort.
