Director's Note

"The Merchant of Venice" has been a favorite of mine for many years, and I am pleased to be able to bring it to the MCCT stage. I have tried to tone down the anti-Semitism that Uncle Will wrote in while still retaining some of the basic Jewish-Christian conflict. I would like to thank the wonderful cast for making my first major directing experience a very pleasant one, with a special note of thanks to Tyler Andrews, who has worked tirelessly off-stage as Stage Manager and on-stage as Old Gobbo while holding down a full time job and drumming up support for "The Rocky Horror Show." I would also like to thank Bloomington Parks and Recreation for their continued support of the arts, and the May Agency for their financial support. I hope you enjoy the show!
