In "Another Play About Hamlet", Hamlet has many things to worry
about. He worries about his mother’s premature marriage to his
uncle. He worries about the mysterious ghost of his father and he
shares the universal fear of not being in control of his own destiny.
Though initially unaware of his role as a player in his own story, he
struggles to understand the essential truth that "Hamlet" the play
is "beyond tradition both immutable and inevitable". In "Another
Play about Hamlet" he deals with his doubts and duties more in a
manner that many people might; with extreme trepidation and a fair
amount of skepticism. "Another’s" Hamlet is neurotic and insecure,
with human foibles that perhaps we can already see in Shakespeare’s
Hamlet. We are asked to try to see the story thru Hamlet’s eyes as
he tries to establish himself as his own person who is not a tool of
fate. Join Hamlet in shaking your fist at fate.

I have been involved with MCCT for a couple of
years now. I was feeling creative one day and I
decided to make an attempt at writing a play for the
Director's Forum. I have always been a big fan of the
horror genre and realized that I had never seen a
horror play, nor had I ever heard of anyone writing
one. I felt that I should be the one to bring some
blood and gore to the Community Theater stage; thus
"White Trash Zombies" was created.
Being born in southern Indiana was obviously my
inspiration for the settting of my play. I thought
other people living in southern Indiana probably do
the same thing I do: make fun of white trash people in
an attempt to live in denial that they themselves are
likewise White Trash, or "W.T." as my friends and I
call it. Not only did I get the opportunity to make
fun of my hometown and the people in it, I also got
the chance to make fun of some other people (Love you
Tyler!), which is one of my favorite pastimes. Although
there will be blood and gore, my play is also VERY
funny. It is not meant to be taken seriously. The
basic story is about a group of people who are trapped
in a beauty salon when zombies take over their town. I
had tons of fun writing this play and getting the
opportunity to direct. I hope y'all have just as much
fun watching it!
