Having unlawfully dethroned the former King Richard II, King Henry IV faces rising civil unrest from rebels in Scotland and Wales, led by Henry Percy (aka Hotspur).  Meanwhile his son (of the same age and name), Prince Henry (aka Hal), causes King Henry constant concern for his unprincely habits and lowly friends.
