Old/Current Business

Alice in Wonderland

Jim says he has the greatest cast he could’ve asked for and it has been a fantastic experience. Things are going very well. Current income as of the meeting (all but one performance) is estimated to be around $730 (including $200 from the Owen County library). Attendance has been approximately 300 people. We have done more advertising for this show than ever before.

Pericles

Auditions have been held and about 8 good people have been found. Unfortunately, the show needs 17 cast members. An additional round of auditions is to be held. Janice would like to find someone knowledgeable about working with PVC pipe to build part of the set.

Oliver Crumb

We have confirmed performances in Spencer at the Hilltop and the library. Posters are ready.

Hadrian

Rance is working his way through the script and scouting out potential cast members.  Auditions will be sometime early to mid August. Tim and Frank will be Assistant Directors.

Beggar’s Opera

The general feeling was that it sounded promising. However, due to the amount we’re already doing this fall, it will probably have to wait until next year.

Extremeties

Rance will look into the Firebay’s availability around late November for this show.

Dracula

Russ has a friend who has written a one-act about zombies which could be tacked onto Dracula. (Tim suggested that short pieces like this could also be thrown into the next Director’s Symposium.)

Grant

We have not yet heard anything about the grant, but should hear sometime in July.

Upcoming/New Business

IndyCallBoard

We have begun listing auditions on this Indianapolis-based Yahoo group.

New Venue

We now have the Hilltop Restaurant in Spencer as an official venue, with the possibility of a continuing relationship like we have with the Lion.

4th Street Festival

Our registration fee has been paid. We will certainly have a snippet of Pericles performed during the festival, and possibly a piece of Oliver Crumb as well if the organizers can be talked into it. (We may also be able to perform something in the street in front of the booth.)

Shakespeare in the Park 2007

Phil is going to propose Antony and Cleopatra for the first summer show, and Russell plans on proposing Romeo and Juliet.

Irish Lion 2007

Russ reports that Ben may propose Waiting for Godot as a potential show for the Lion next year. The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury is also a possibility for the Halloween show, and Chad Eagleton had expressed an interest in writing something for the space.

Meeting Adjourned

Tim moves to close the meeting, Rance seconds, ayes unanimous.
