Old/Current Business

Webmaster’s Report

No Webmaster’s Report was available yet for April. April figures will be reported along with May at the June meeting.

BAAC Grant

Jen met with someone from BAAC. They were kind enough to let us revise some parts of our proposal that were a little rough. They went over the budget and demographic notes. There were some things that couldn’t be changed, like the narrative pieces, but she was given helpful hints for next time. The next step is to present something in early June. This would be a 3-4 minute spiel about why we care about getting the money. The amount we’re asking has not changed.

World Arts

We have one more set of posters free. After that we need to print two posters at a time and will need to pay half the cost, about $130 or so, per run. World Arts will also print programs and inserts for free.

Filling Allen’s Position

We’re still having trouble getting someone because we still can’t pay.

Twelfth Night

The show is generally going well. One actor has dropped out, but the role is small and Ben is confident that he can fill it. A number of people have been working on other productions which will be finishing up in the next week or so, so while attendance hasn’t been perfect, it will be better soon. Ben said he would need $200 for a set which would be completely reusable other than the cloth covering on a wall. Costumes are still in process. The show will be done in Marx Brothers era, which should help on the costuming. Starting time needs to be verified with Parks and Rec since we would like 7pm rather than 8pm.

Upcoming Lion Shows

The Spencer library has not been able to find a time and place for us to perform Alice yet.

Pericles

Janice has an “able assistant” and tech consultant. Auditions have not been set yet, but Janice is thinking right after the Fourth of July. This is a bit early, but this way they can get the bulk of rehearsals out of the way during vacation time. Janice is still concerned about difficulties which may arise from attempting to put on two shows at once. However, it was pointed out that the cast of Hadrian will probably be vastly different from the cast of Pericles, so this may not present too much of a problem.

Upcoming/New Business

Publicity

We need to go through our list and see who we are sending publicity to, and if we have left anyone out, and try to make sure we’re keeping everyone informed. Russ says he has not been hitting the radio stations. Phil suggested trying the TV stations in Indianapolis, which often have community calendars we might be able to make use of.

Waldron Season

The Waldron has decided to have a season after all, and has asked us for a submission.  Hadrian will therefore be part of their season. This may not involve the kind of coproduction they have offered in the past.

Meeting Adjourned

Ben moves to close the meeting, Phil seconds, ayes unanimous.
