Janice nominated Rance for the office of Vice-President, with Sara seconding.
Janice nominated Phil for the office of Secretary, with Sara seconding.
Rance nominated Susan for the office of Treasurer, with Phil seconding.
Frank then closed the nominations. All of the above nominees, with the exception of Susan, agreed to remain in their offices for another term. Rance said he had talked to Susan and she was willing to remain in her office as well. Sara then moved to accept the nominations, with Janice adding the second. All officers were retained for another term.
Minutes, Treasurer’s Report, Webmaster
The minutes from the January meeting and the Annual Meeting were read by the membership. Rance moved to accept both sets of minutes and Sara seconded. There was no Treasurer’s report, due to an illness. Sara then reported the website had 17,405 hits for the month of January. Phil moved to accept the Web Report, and Rance seconded.
Director’s Symposium XIV
We are still in search of a producer for the Symposium. Janice stated that her original proposal was merely a suggestion for the three plays to put together, not a concrete set. She still wanted to direct Aria de Capo, she just thought the other two would be a good fit with that show. Some people had e-mailed about directing for the show and someone was going to go to the Waldron to finalize the contract. Frank said he would talk to someone about directing one of the shows. There was still some time to iron out some of the problems.
Shakespeare in the Park
The Parks & Rec. contract was called a “standard contract”, with the change of the use of the Allison-Jukebox building for a performance that might be rained out. There was also a request for a meeting between Parks & Rec. and the director of the show a week before Tech Week. There was also discussion that there would be a new sound guy this year.
Former Participants
The former participant who e-mailed us about his likeness and name on our website was not happy with the blurring of his face, so the offending image has been removed from the site.
Promotional Director
Rance was going to contact the person who was interested in the position to see if she was still interested in the position.
A Christmas Carol
Sheila was asking if it might be time to retire A Christmas Carol, not permanently, just put it on hiatus for a year or two. Other members disagreed. Sheila was also mentioning doing a Madrigal Dinner during December.
Other Business
There were several things talked about during the last part of the meeting.
The WTIU Fundraiser was mentioned.
Russ said he might want to direct the first Shakespeare show next year.
Janice retracted her idea for the show between the Shakespeare slots.
Something was mentioned about the Fringe Festival.
Frank asked if there were any other ideas for any plays we could produce at any time.
There were several possibilities for the upcoming show at Macy’s in Greenwood in May.
Adjournment
Rance moved to adjourn the meeting, with a second from Sara. The membership approved the motion unanimously.
