Old/Current Business
Webmaster’s Report
In December we had 12,526 hits—very good, about the same as last month. At Phil’s request the number of hits for the year was calculated: 133,490.
Parks and Recreation
Parks and Rec has our contract and we are awaiting their approval.
Allen Pease/Fundraising
Allen is doing well, but has had to resign from the Board. He is doing what he can to help Phil get sponsorship packets and such together until we can find someone else to fill the position. Phil presented the current packet to the Board. He says he is working on the newsletter as well.
Sleeping Beauty
Janice has cast enough people to do the curtain-raiser “The Emperor’s Daughters”, so we will now be promoting it along with Sleeping Beauty. Janice has not yet asked her cast about doing a show in Spencer. Rehearsals will be beginning the Sunday after the January meeting. Janice is hoping to get Jim Hettmer to be her assistant. She also needs someone to be in charge of the props, as well as some guidance and help promoting the show. She is taking care of the costumes. The set has a few things that need done, but is mostly done. Frank advised her to get together a list of props that she needed so that they can be found.
Annual Meeting
At this year’s annual meeting, Frank, Tim and Susan will be up for re-election. There will also be one empty slot. We set the date for January 22 at 1:00pm, so that we could have the meeting in the Waldron Auditorium before Sleeping Beauty rehearsals.
Director’s Symposium XI
Tim agreed to produce the Symposium again this year. In theory, the lineup will hopefully include “Duck Variations”, the improv troupe, something directed by David Michel and something written by Phil. There is also a feeling that it would be good to get Jim Hettmer involved if possible.
Caroling with A Christmas Carol
Some of the cast went caroling with some other people. They went up and down Second Street, through the hospital, and through the entranceway of Wendy’s. Whenever anyone asked about who the group was, MCCT was mentioned. There seemed to be a good response.
Upcoming/New Business
T-Shirts
We have purchased more L and XL shirts, having been sold out of them.
Time Zone
We will be in the Eastern time zone, which means that the Shakespeare in the Park shows will not really need lighting because there will be natural light available so late.
Maldonado’s
Janice suggested doing the Lion shows at Maldonado’s too. Phil said he could talk to the management about it but he didn’t know that they had ever done anything like that.
Conference in Muncie
A community theater festival in Muncie on was briefly discussed; however, due to bad location and timing, and registration fee per company member (cast, crew or audience) plus a membership fee, we decided not to participate.
Meeting Adjourned
Tim moves to close the meeting, Phil seconds, ayes unanimous.
